The Triumphant Teens Explore Sohoton!
On August 15, 2009 the Triumphant Teens had their latest adventure. The trip to Sohoton Caves and Natural bridge. The Sohoton National Park was created in 1935 to protect unique rock formations, caves, and rainforest along the Sohoton River in Samar Province. It is part of the Samar Island Natural Park. It has an area of 840 Hectares and is located near the town of Basey within the boundaries of two barangays. It took almost an hour from Tacloban to Basey. When we reached Basey we road a boat which took us about an hour and thirty minutes to get to reach our destination. We then ate lunch before entering the caves and then the adventure began. The entrance was very challenging and bats entertained and greeted us as we entered. The view and sights were wonderful, the stalagmites and stalactites were everywhere. They were all different designs, shapes and sizes, it truly was an amazing sight. We had a wonderful time enjoying the beauty of God’s creation and fellowshipping with one another. Thank the Lord we arrived home safe, tired, but happy that we were able to be a part of this adventure as Triumphant Teens!
