Praise The Lord for a wonderful 31st Anniversary Service!
“31 years ago, all of these that we have were non-existent” a heartfelt statement from Pastor Howard L. Wynn the head Pastor of the Grace Baptist Church as he spoke with gladness during the anniversary service, October 25, 2009. The entire auditorium was filled with people; visitors and members of the different mission works of the church. Approximately 600 individuals consisted the congregation that looking back, GBC started as a small group of people in Apitong. For 31 years indeed, it was not in vain. By His grace it has grown big and from Apitong the Word of God has reached the different parts of Leyte and even to the other countries. The Lord’s faithfulness has been with the Church all through the years and He blessed the Church with people who are dedicated for the Lord’s service.
The anniversary celebration was at the same time an Encouragement Rally. Delegates were from the churches of: Grace Baptist Mission- Burauen, Mc. Arthur Independent Baptist Mission, Grace Baptist Church-Tolosa, Grace Baptist Church-Babatngon, and the LeySam Baptist Church. Wonderful special songs from the choirs of the different participating churches were rendered before Pastor Howard L. Wynn delivered the message of the Word of God which centers on being “Fixed”. Taken from the text verse, Psalm 57: 7 it conveys a message about a Fixed heart in the Preserved Word of God; the only Power of God unto salvation and the Provider of everything needed for our spiritual growth in grace. A heart fixed n the place of worshipping and serving God (the church) and being fixed on the person and work of Jesus Christ.
Very much grateful, Pastor Wynn never ceased to thank the church for always working hard for the Glory of God. 31 years of the Lord’s faithfulness, amazing grace and splendid blessings is not only a celebration of thanksgiving but an encouragement as well.
