"GBC celebrates two special Sundays " |
||
“Each one brings one ‘til the world is won” is truly possible. The church celebrated two special Sundays for the months of July and August with the aim of bringing people to church so that they could hear the gospel and come to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ. Students/Classmates Sunday As early as 8:30 a.m., they came flocking in making the Bible students and young people busy assisting them in filling out first-time visitor cards. Majority of the students were college students of our church members who teach in secular school like Ma’am Elsie Abellera and Ma’am Lorna Parado, to name a few. As a result, they packed the Young Adults Sunday school and fully occupied the available monoblock chairs of the church. Teachers Sunday Since August is Teachers Month, the church honored all teachers on August 31 with a special Sunday dedicated as Teachers Sunday. Bro. Lito Dave acknowledged all teachers present by making them stand while the congregation gave them a round of applause. Further, he made special recognition of the teachers of Grace Baptist Academy who were working not for monetary purposes but as a ministry to the church. Opportunely, academy teachers, just fresh from their SOT convention in Pasay City, were able to attend this special service although some were still in Manila for a short vacation. Bro. Lito Dave spoke the whole Sunday, preaching in the morning about the Greatness of God’s Love taken from the gospel verse John 3:16 and Cheer Up during the evening service to encourage Christians to serve the Lord. Unlike the Students & Classmates Sunday, this time the church was not quite as full though there were some first-time visitors and one former teacher made a decision to follow the Lord in the waters of baptism. |
